HelpThe CSI SafeSites™ site finding system is comprised of a categorized listing of SafeSites, referred to as a portal, and the system is used by entering a search term and selecting the Find SafeSites button.The CSI SafeSites Portal OptionThe CSI SafeSites Portal presents web sites in categories to allow you to browse through a list web sites that all have the same general subject in mind. The number inside the ()'s immediately following the category name is the current number of web site currently found in that category.The CSI SafeSites Search OptionThe CSI SafeSites Search option allows you to search for SafeSites that contain a word or phrase of your choice. Enter a word or phrase and select the Find SafeSites button or just press the [Enter] key. A list of matching web sites, along with the site description, the SafeSites Ranking, the Category of the web site, the URL and the date the SafeSites information was last updated. CSE SafeSites Search Methods The current available search engine options are basic search options. If more that one word is entered as the search term, the entire term will be searched as is. For example, if you search for for two words, Henry Mancini, then the SafeSites database will search for the phrase "henry mancini". Searches are case-insensitive. In this example, the SafeSites database search will not find web site when the word "henry" and the word "mancini" are not next to each other. It will not find web sites with just the word "henry". It will not find web sites with just the word "mancini". In short, it will find web sites with the phrase "henry mancini". The CSE SafeSites Rank Methodology The CSE SafeSites Rank percentage is a percentage of how popular the web site is with respect to the other sites at CSI SafeSites. A percentage of 100 is a popular site and a percentage of 0 is a site not visited often or at not at all.BackgroundCSI SafeSites was developed and introduced to the public in January, 2004 in response to the consistent need to find safe and secure web sites for adults and especially children.
